Founder story
Fifty years of building yachts the way one man believed they should be built.
Aegean Yacht was founded in 1976 by Sinan Özer, on a stretch of seafront in Bodrum that would become the yard's first home.
[Add: Sinan Özer's personal background — education, early career, and what led him to start building yachts rather than simply owning one. The brief mentions Boğaziçi University; confirm and expand here.]
The yard's approach was set early and has not moved since: every commission begins as a blank sheet of paper, built entirely in-house rather than assembled from bought-in parts.
[Add: a specific early memory, project, or turning point from the yard's first decade — the kind of detail that only the family can supply.]
Fifty years on, Aegean Yacht operates two full-service, seafront yards — 40,000m² in Bodrum and 4,000m² in the Antalya Free Zone — and has delivered more than 50 yachts, ranging from 20 to 66 metres, without ever building the same one twice.
"[Add a short, quotable line from Sinan Özer — in his own words, about what building a yacht by hand actually means to him.]"
